Abstract

In order to encourage staff and students to face further challenges and to ensure that educational institutions remain relevant in a competitive global context, higher education needs the best leaders and a collaborative environment. An empirical study has examined the influence of transformational leadership (TL) and team communication (TC) on task performance (TP). A quantitative analysis validated the proposed model and explained the comprehensive association between predictors and behavioral outcomes. Data were gathered from students of master programs with a sample of 280 from Punjab University of Pakistan. The partial least square (PLS) analysis method was used to analyze the data. The findings showed that to assess high TP, team perception of TL significantly impacted TC and Team Trust (TT). Furthermore, TC significantly impacted TT, while TT positively impacted team creativity (TCR), which improved TP.
